Ripon sits at the gateway to Wensleydale, and Cedar Lodge occupies a quiet woodland setting on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The lodge is one of several similar properties on a small private site, positioned near the River Ure with easy access to walking country dotted with medieval abbeys, castles and waterfalls. The market town of Masham, three miles away, has a cobbled square hosting weekly and seasonal markets, several inns and restaurants, tea shops, and Theakston's Brewery.

Everything is on the ground floor, accessed by two steps. The living space combines a sitting room with vaulted ceilings and a dining area, opening onto an enclosed decked veranda with garden furniture. The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking—electric oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge—and there is a sofa bed in the living room. Bedroom one contains two single beds (3ft) and an ensuite with bath and shower; bedroom two has a double bed (4ft 6in) and access to a separate shower room. Both rooms have Freeview TV. The property sleeps five and comes with a travel cot and highchair.

Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included. One pet stays free. The lodge has private parking for two cars and a garden space. No smoking inside.

Furniture a bit cheap and not too comfy, beds very comfy and lovely clean linen. Nice towels for bathroom has to bring our own for the hot tub. Not very private at all lodge behind the lodge that had to walk up a path nearby. Was blocked off with a gate that staff left open despite us being in a dog friendly lodge. Hot tub very clean. Not too much on the immediate area but a short ride to Ripon, Masham or Bedale.

Great stay, lodges are well equipped with everything you need, clean and modern, hot tubs a great touch, On issue it is in the middle of nowhere, literally nothing to do so it might be right up your street.

Stayed here for a romantic break away with my wife. Excellent location for exploring Yorkshire with plenty to do within a short drive. The Site is well presented and the staff were very helpful. Our lodge (6B) was well equipped and had everything needed to offer a relaxing experience in our downtime, including the hot tub. We had a great stay and would certainly come back.

Amazing place to stay. Our second time here and we will be booking again. Love the lake and the wildlife. The resort is very chilled and laid back. The lodge was very clean and had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable even my husband agreed and he takes some pleasing with beds. Our 1 minor issue are the outside chairs which are not very comfortable but this will not stop us returning. Ideal place for the summer. But out of season we go to places where there is a cover over the hot tub as this is what my husband enjoys. We could end up here 3 times a year if the tubs had a cover over them .
