Everything needed for a self-catering stay is provided at Clarks Yard, from bed linen and towels to wi-fi and heating, so you can arrive ready to settle in. The kitchen has an electric oven, hob, microwave and fridge for cooking proper meals; the ground floor living room has Freeview TV for quieter evenings. Upstairs there are two bedrooms—one with a double bed, one with bunks—and a shower room. The whole cottage is yours alone, sleeping four across the two storeys.
The cottage sits on a private yard reached via uneven stone steps off Church Street in Whitby's old town, with a front garden and seating area overlooking the rooftops. A public car park is ten minutes away (charged). Church Street itself runs down to the harbourside; Whitby Abbey and its 199 Steps are a short walk, the Captain Cook Memorial Museum is close by, and independent shops, cafés and pubs line the streets immediately around you. The beaches are dog-friendly. No smoking inside.
