Cayton Bay's beach lies less than a mile away, and from there the Yorkshire coast unfolds in both directions. Scarborough is a short drive north, while the clifftop walks that form part of the Cleveland Way start virtually on the doorstep. The RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs, known for puffins and migrating seabirds, is a similar distance inland. York, consistently ranked among England's best-visited cities, takes under an hour by car or direct train from Scarborough.

Cottage Four sits in the grounds of Eldin Hall on Armstrong Road. Everything is on the ground floor: a living space with television and DVD player, separate dining area, and a kitchen equipped to cook properly. Bedroom one is a double with an ensuite shower room; bedrooms two and three are also doubles, with a family bathroom serving both. The cottage sleeps six and is yours alone. Parking for two cars is provided on site, and there is an electric car charging point available.

Oil central heating keeps the cottage warm, and wi-fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included. One well-behaved pet stays free. The decked area to the front has garden furniture, and you have access to shared garden space with play equipment for children. No smoking inside.

Self catering holiday cottage. Perfrct service as place clean, organised and lovely welcome pack for both humans and dog! 😃 Rooms cosy, characterful and lovely showers, bath and kitchen. Comfy beds, large sofa and sturdy dining set. 3 bedrooms - we used 2, and there is room and layout to fit everyone in if the group were larger. 4 out of 5 on locality. The cottages are tucked away, quiet and have a great history however, not rural as such. The village(s) around are nice but surrounded and expanded with big new estates. Not unusual but it does mean, once outside the gate, you're kind of in "reality" 🤣. The cottages area has 2 greens (with swings) which makes it safe should you have young kids, and parking is designated. Exceptional value, well kept, clean, cosy, excellent facilities (torch, grater, loo roll, dishwasher, washing machine, clothes drier, towels, books and everything inbetween) well placed and within minutes of all you could need - supermarkets, pubs, wonderful coast, nature reserves, shopping centres, hills, walks etc. Fantastic!

Lovely cottage, but a bit on the small side but there were only two of us so not a big problem. The fridge was tiny so had to buy food almost daily as there wasn't much space in the fridge. The location was great, in a small courtyard with three other cottages around. It was only about a 20 minute drive to either Filey or Scarborough. Would stay again.
