Fern Farm - Wheel House

North Yorkshire

The Wheel House is a ground-floor conversion on farmland between the North York Moors and the coast. Two bedrooms—a king and a twin—each have their own shower room. The open-plan living space contains a kitchen with electric oven and induction hob, a dining area, and a sitting area with Freeview Smart TV. Essentials including Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included; heating is underfloor electric. One dog stays free. You have private parking for two cars and an enclosed garden with seating.

Whitby is ten minutes' drive away, with its cobbled streets, restaurants, independent shops and long beach. Robin Hood's Bay, the closer neighbour, sits at the end of steep footpaths through a tightly packed village. The Moors themselves are on the doorstep—rolling fields surround the property, and from nearby you can see across to Sandsend coastline and the ruins of Whitby Abbey. The location suits people wanting both countryside quiet and easy access to the seaside town, or those exploring the footpaths and moorland on foot. Wildlife is abundant in the area. No smoking inside.

Absolutely beautiful place in the North Yorkshire Moors. Ideal if you like walking and bird spotting. Curlew Cottage is lovely and John, Tina & family are lovely hosts. We will be back.

This is our 14th year holidaying at fern farm. We stopped in Curlew cottage. And have stayed in Peewit cottage too. Lovely views from both cottages. The cottages are beautiful, very clean, comfortable and all you could wish for and more. The welcome basket is always much appreciated. Tina and John go above and beyond and are warm and welcoming, as is Henry their dog. The area is fabulous for anyone who enjoys walking as we do. Lots of places to go and see. We are back at Curlew in July and already looking forward to the holiday.

Great little cottage with everything you need for a peaceful stay. Perfect for walks on the moors and the coast or just enjoying the afternoon sun in front.

A comfortable, clean, well presented cottage in a great location. This review for Curlew Cottage, I've been a regular visitor (to Curlew and Peewit Cottages) for the last 7 years, and wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in this area. A very big 'Thank You' to Tina and John for being such great hosts!
