About Grosvenor Hotel

Grosvenor Hotel is a traditional-style property on Station Road in Robin Hoods Bay, the kind of solidly built hotel that suits the character of this North Yorkshire coastal village. It offers straightforward, unpretentious accommodation with en-suite bathrooms, family rooms and accessible rooms among the options, along with free WiFi and drinks available in room.

The restaurant and bar are a particular strength, with homemade dishes served in generous portions, from steak pie to fish and chips, plus a proper cooked breakfast to start the day. Packed lunches can be arranged for those heading out to explore, and there's a garden and outdoor seating for relaxing when the weather allows. Staff are on hand around the clock via 24 hour reception, and the atmosphere throughout is relaxed and welcoming rather than formal.

Robin Hood's Bay itself offers walking and cycling routes along the coast, with fishing and watersports also nearby, plus golf, pubs and restaurants within easy reach for evenings out. Rooms are kept clean and comfortable, and the overall package represents solid value for money.

I was recommended The Grosvenor by the campsite owner when asked for somewhere with good food, and I wasn't disappointed. As soon as I entered, the bar staff were welcoming and friendly, and having not booked, they fitted me in no problem. The menu has a wide choice, and reasonably priced. I opted for fish and chips, and the portion was huge! Red hot and well cooked. The evening was topped off by a local blues band, adding to what was already a lovely atmosphere. I will definitely return.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Dinner- my veg lasagna was without the pasta and garlic bread devoid if garlic. So not the best. A good nights sleep was not possible as it sounded like the kitchen extractor fans had been left on all night, I was not the only one to mention this. No sleep and a three hour drive to a meeting is not a good start to the day! May have been a good idea to mention at the time of booking that there is a live band on a Tuesday. All in all, not the best experience, but a clean and comfortable room.

Whilst visiting a dog shop Paws, asked about where's good for food. She recommended this place as locals always use it. Well, had food here 2 different nights and it has been superb, portions are very generous, the staff are very friendly and has a good choice of menu and specials board. If you are after good homemade, hearty food, then book a table as can get busy on certain nights and you won't be disappointed.

We've just spent a couple of nights here and were very impressed. The location is lovely and the rooms are adequate. The food is brilliant 😁 Great choice, fantastic quality and large portions. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Parking for motorbikes is free in the station carpark which was a bonus. Great value for money.
