Forest Lodge Farm - Coltus Lands
North Yorkshire

Deep in the North Yorkshire Moors, where bridle paths cross through valleys and cycle tracks wind between villages, Forest Lodge Farm sits on the grounds of a Grade II listed organic farm. The property occupies a converted barn dating to the 1800s, part of a cluster of former working buildings now let separately. Danby Dale spreads out below, and from here you can reach Kirkby Moorside, Pickering and Helmsley to the south, or drive to the coast at Whitby, Staithes and Runswick Bay in under half an hour.
The lodge has two bedrooms—one with a zip-and-link bed that splits into singles, one with a kingsize—and two bathrooms, arranged over two floors. The living room has a wood burner for cooler evenings. The kitchen is fully fitted with an oven, dishwasher and separate washer-dryer, so you can manage a week's self-catering without constraint. Essentials like electricity, heating, bed linen and Wi-Fi are included. You have private parking for three cars and your own entrance.
The farm occupies several acres of open grounds with mature trees, garden furniture and a children's play area. A courtyard garden sits directly outside, with a BBQ if you want to cook outdoors. There is a shallow pond in the courtyard; children need supervision there. The property is non-smoking. A travel cot and high chair are available if you're bringing younger guests.

One to be slightly mindful of - we had Dale House booked from Monday of next week and the owners cancelled on us yesterday through Cottages.com with no explanation as to why!

Great cottages and the owners are very nice and helpful. Nice to have a technology break in the end, but be prepared for no cell service or wifi signal!!!!
