Dale House is a converted barn dating from the 1800s, part of a Grade II listed organic farm near Whitby. The building retains its character as a former working structure while offering modern comforts across two floors. Ground level holds the main living spaces—an open-plan kitchen and dining area, a sitting room with woodburner, and a second lounge—along with two bedrooms and a shower room. Upstairs are two further bedrooms. The property sleeps eight across its four rooms and comes with bed linen, towels, wifi and heating included.

The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with a dishwasher, oven and all essentials. A library of games, play area within the grounds, travel cot, highchair and stairgate are available for families. The farm sits on two to three acres of open lawn with garden furniture and a barbecue, and guests have private parking for three cars. Note that there is a shallow unfenced pond in the courtyard. The location offers direct access to bridle paths and cycle tracks across the farm and into the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. Whitby, Pickering, Helmsley and Guisborough are all within reach, as are the coastal villages of Staithes and Runswick Bay. A pub and shops are roughly a mile away. No smoking throughout.

One to be slightly mindful of - we had Dale House booked from Monday of next week and the owners cancelled on us yesterday through Cottages.com with no explanation as to why!

Great cottages and the owners are very nice and helpful. Nice to have a technology break in the end, but be prepared for no cell service or wifi signal!!!!
