Hyde Away

Scarborough's Old Town cascades down a hillside towards South Bay, its narrow lanes lined with independent shops, cafés and traditional pubs. Hyde Away sits on one of these stepped streets, a two-bedroom cottage built into the slope with direct access to the seafront. The ground floor holds a living room with a smart TV, an open-plan kitchen and dining space where you can cook properly, a utility room with a washing machine, and a bathroom with a shower over the bath. Two double bedrooms occupy the first floor. The essentials—heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi—are included, and one well-behaved pet can stay for free.

The cottage works well for a family or two couples wanting a genuine seaside base rather than a resort feel. South Bay's golden sand and amusement arcades are a five-minute walk; the quieter North Bay with the Sea Life Centre lies in the other direction. Scarborough Castle crowns the headland between them, and the town's maze of streets rewards wandering on foot. A pub sits within a mile. There is roadside parking with permits provided. The property does not permit smoking.
