The Old School House

North Yorkshire

View on Google Maps

The Old School House is a two-bedroom converted schoolhouse in Scarborough, within easy reach of both South Bay and North Bay. Built in 1905 as the original school for the neighbouring Friarage, it retains character throughout—from period details to a traditional gym bench—while offering everything needed for a self-catering break. The property sleeps four across one double and two singles, with a bathroom upstairs that has a bath and shower.

Downstairs comprises a living room with woodburning stove and Freeview TV, a separate dining room, and a well-equipped kitchen with electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. A door from the kitchen leads to a small outdoor seating area. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included, along with initial fuel for the stove and a parking permit for one car. The property is non-smoking.

Scarborough's sandy beaches are a five to ten-minute walk away, and a pub sits within a mile. The cottage suits families or groups wanting somewhere with genuine character and the practicality to cook; Scarborough centre and seafront attractions are all close by.
