Maybeck Cottage sits on a country road above Ruswarp, with all its rooms on a single level. You enter into an open-plan living space where a sofa bed (suitable for children) faces a wood-burning stove, the dining area flows alongside, and the kitchen sits at one end. A separate double bedroom and bathroom complete the layout. The cottage sleeps four: two adults in the bedroom bed, plus two children on the sofa bed if needed. Wi-Fi, heating, linen and towels are provided, and there's enough kitchen equipment to cook proper meals rather than just heat things up.

The cottage is one of several converted farm buildings arranged around a shared grassy area with views across the valley towards Whitby. Picnic benches overlook the landscape, and there's parking on site. Ruswarp village sits below, where the River Esk has boats to hire and cafés with waterside seating; the stretch of water is known for salmon, seals, otters and kingfishers. Whitby itself is three miles away and reachable on foot, by road, or via the heritage railway that stops in Ruswarp. The North York Moors National Park is also nearby for walking. No smoking throughout the property.
