Cedar Cottage works well for families wanting more than a hotel room, or groups of friends who'd rather have their own space than share a kitchen. It's a barn conversion with three bedrooms and three bathrooms, each bedroom ensuite. The ground floor has an open-plan living area with dining space and a kitchen for self-catering; upstairs are two further bedrooms. Bed linen and towels are provided, and the essentials—heating, electricity, wi-fi—are included in the price.

The cottage sits in a courtyard with three other properties nearby, though you have the whole place to yourselves. There's an enclosed garden with furniture and a barbecue, parking for two cars, and bike storage for exploring the immediate area. One dog can stay free. The location is between the villages of Aislaby and Egton in the North York Moors, about five miles from Whitby's harbour and fishing port, with good walking routes starting from the doorstep. The building dates to the 17th century and retains stone walls and beams, though it's been updated for comfort.

No smoking inside. You can request a travel cot and highchair if needed, and there's use of a shared tumble dryer and freezer. Arrival is after 15:00, departure before 10:00.

Wow. Just stunning location! Quiet and peaceful. We stayed for 3 nights and the cottage was gorgeous. Just what we were after for a few days away. Our dog loved it too. Worn out walking every day in beautiful locations nearby.

Just had a 3 night break at Granary cottage with my 2 dogs, this clean and comfortable cottage had fantastic views. If you're looking for a country break with walks on your door step, this is the place for you. Great to watch the horses, chickens and local wildlife.

Stayed in Acorn cottage one of four on this farm. It was well laid out, sleeps 4 in two double bed rooms both en suite. Clean and very cosy due to underfloor heating . Well appointed but lacking a dishwasher which is unusual in this price range . Lovely countryside all around, but access down narrow lanes. Near Whitby, Staithes, Robin Hoods Bay and North Yorkshire National Park . Hosts friendly and helpful.
