Alum house is such a beautiful place! Glen and Michelle (and the animals) were fantastic hosts, very helpful and welcoming and their place really is special, it's so peaceful and calm, clean and organised. We stayed in the Jenny Wren belle tent, it had its own private space with kitchen area and a hot tub, picnic bench, umbrella (luckily we didn't need it!) and everything we needed for bbqs and self catering. We'll definitely stay here again!

What a fantastic setting for this great glamping experience. Whitby and the area is our ‘happy’ place so driving from SW Scotland is no problem. The site is perfect, just two Yurts and one lodge, all of them spaced well apart and in their own private area surrounded by trees and flowers. Our Yurt, Barn Owl has a KS comfy bed, a separate cooking area with everything you need and a wood fired hot bath. The hosts Michelle and Glen are lovely, down to earth, good people who either look after you (Michelle cooks great meals apparently, we’ll try those out next time) or ensure you’re ok and then leave you to enjoy the experience. Our dog loved the walks as sleeping under canvas. Highly recommend.

My sister surprised me with a glamping trip here for my birthday. Lovely 2 nights we stayed. We explored upto foss falls lovely walk. Michelle and Glen were amazing hosts nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel very welcomed. Michelle took the time to introduce us to her newly hatched ducks that she had in her own backgarden. Food was lovely. Breakfast we had a sandwich and my sister had granola with lots of fruit and yoghurt. Pizzas were all homemade and delicious. The cakes were gorgeous Would stay again 😍

We had a wonderful time staying at Alum House. We were in one of the bell tents in late May, though they look well equipped for colder times of year too. We woke up every morning to birdsong and the feeling of nature all around. It's easy to make a day trip to Whitby or Robin Hood's Bay with a car and Michelle and Glen are excellent hosts.
