Whitby's moors and coast sit within easy reach of Granary Cottage, a converted 17th-century building on the Newbiggin Hall estate. The village of Grosmont is accessible on foot via the Eskdale Walk, and Goathland—familiar from Heartbeat—lies nearby. The cottage itself occupies its own space in a courtyard with two other properties, each independent with their own parking.

Ground-floor living includes an open-plan kitchen, dining area and lounge with a wood-burning stove, Freeview and a DVD player. The kitchen has what you need to cook properly: a full oven, hob, fridge and microwave. Upstairs, a double bedroom and Z-bed for a third person share access to an ensuite shower room. Heating, electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are covered. The patio is paved and enclosed, with garden furniture and a barbecue. You get parking for two cars and a bike store.

One pet stays free. The property does not accommodate smoking. A travel cot and highchair are available if you ask ahead.

Wow. Just stunning location! Quiet and peaceful. We stayed for 3 nights and the cottage was gorgeous. Just what we were after for a few days away. Our dog loved it too. Worn out walking every day in beautiful locations nearby.

Just had a 3 night break at Granary cottage with my 2 dogs, this clean and comfortable cottage had fantastic views. If you're looking for a country break with walks on your door step, this is the place for you. Great to watch the horses, chickens and local wildlife.

Stayed in Acorn cottage one of four on this farm. It was well laid out, sleeps 4 in two double bed rooms both en suite. Clean and very cosy due to underfloor heating . Well appointed but lacking a dishwasher which is unusual in this price range . Lovely countryside all around, but access down narrow lanes. Near Whitby, Staithes, Robin Hoods Bay and North Yorkshire National Park . Hosts friendly and helpful.
