Princess Lodge

North Yorkshire

View on Google Maps

Scarborough's old town sits on a hillside above the harbour, where narrow streets wind between fishermen's cottages and the quayside. Princess Lodge occupies a Grade II listed building from the early 1800s that once housed a chemist's shop; now it serves as a spacious holiday home for ten guests. The beach is a short walk away, and the town centre—with its indoor market and high street—lies just beyond.

The property spreads across three floors. Downstairs holds a living room with a woodburner and a separate dining space, plus a kitchen equipped for proper cooking: electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher and American fridge freezer. Upstairs are five bedrooms (two with kingsize beds, three with pairs of singles) and three bathrooms between them. A second-floor sitting room provides additional space. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included, along with parking permits for four cars and one free pet. Families with young children will find a travel cot, highchair and stairgate already here.

The location works for anyone drawn to the coast: there are two beaches, a long promenade, Peasholm Park with its lake and boats, and Scarborough Open Air Theatre nearby. Restaurants and bars cluster within easy reach. No smoking throughout.
