Red Squirrel Haven

Snaizeholme is known for its red squirrels, roe deer, otters and birdlife, and Red Squirrel Haven sits at the heart of this habitat. The cottage occupies a quiet location reached via a forest track, with an enclosed garden and decked area where you can watch wildlife at close range—food is provided to encourage visits from the animals the valley is famous for. Two double bedrooms sleep four; there are two bathrooms, so no queuing in the morning.

The ground floor is open plan, with a living room and dining space around a woodburner, a kitchen fitted with an electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher and other essentials for cooking, and a conservatory with views over the garden. A utility room with washing machine is tucked away. Both bedrooms are upstairs; one has an en-suite shower room. Essentials including wi-fi, electricity, bed linen and towels come as standard, and logs for the woodburner are provided to get you started. The property has its own spring water supply filtered through ultraviolet treatment.

This suits walkers, nature watchers, families with dogs (the enclosed garden is secure), and anyone after quiet. There is parking for four cars on site. No smoking inside.
