View on Google MapsPhoto: The Saddle Room Restaurant
This former stable building retains the character of its agricultural past while delivering contemporary comfort across three storeys. Saddle Room sits on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, within the grounds of Tupgill Park, a setting that combines working countryside with easy access to walking routes and local attractions. One dog stays free and can roam the enclosed back garden during your visit.
The ground floor holds a living room with a smart TV, a kitchen and dining space where you can cook proper meals, and the first of three king-size bedrooms with its own shower room. Upstairs, two further identical bedrooms each have en-suite facilities. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are all included; the kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering. There is private parking for three cars on site, and a patio in the garden with furniture for outdoor meals.
The cottage suits families or groups of friends wanting a base in the Dales with room to spread out. Four steps lead to the entrance, and the same applies to accessing the garden. Check-in is after 15:00 and checkout before 10:00. No smoking throughout.

This is a perfect example of how you turn a wonderful heritage building into a restaurant and bar and keep it feeling like it's still the original vibe. The place was an old stable and you can tell from the decor and the theme. The funniest part is the signage on the toilets, albeit it a little insensitive for people with a weak sense of humor. The staff were lovely and the service was great, to say it's in the middle of nowhere it's also very reasonably priced.

Lovely restaurant with lovely staff. We visited after spending an afternoon at the Forbidden Corner next door. The restaurant is a converted stable block and looks very classy. The food was amazing. We went for T-bone pork, which was a good size, moist, and tasty. It came with a crispy piece of crackling. The waitresses looked after us, making sure we had everything we needed. Service was quick. The horsey theme was great. Toilets were clean. It was a great meal in a very nice setting.

Stayed here while visiting The Forbidden Corner. Beautiful location and building. There was also plenty of parking on site. Check in was easy and all staff friendly and professional. The room we stayed in was stunning, well looked after and decorated. Was incredibly quiet and peaceful in the evening. Breakfast was also included which was top quality! There is a bar/restaurant on site too (which is where you have breakfast) which is just as stunning and well presented as the rest of the venue. We ate here for dinner in the evening, price point is great for the high quality of food on offer. Again staff were lovely. All in all of you're looking for a quality country retreat you can't go wrong with this place, highly recommended!
