You enter Saddle Room through a ground-floor room that opens into the whole shape of the place at once—kitchen, dining and living space flowing together, with a woodburner at the far end and doors onto the garden beyond. Two ensuite bedrooms sit upstairs. The kitchen has what you need to cook properly: electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge and coffee machine. A separate sitting room with a second smart TV offers a quieter retreat, while a utility room handles laundry. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included; so is the wood for the stove.
Saddle Room sleeps four people across a zip-and-link kingsize in the main bedroom (which can be split into two singles) and a double in the second. Both have ensuite showers and heated towel rails. One dog can stay at no extra charge. The enclosed garden has a sitting area and terrace with furniture, and there is parking for two cars on site. The property does not permit smoking.
Leyburn is a market town in the northern Yorkshire Dales, with The Forbidden Corner—a maze and garden attraction—nearby. The area is walking country, and the setting itself, in what was once a stable building, holds its own particular appeal for a rural break.

This is a perfect example of how you turn a wonderful heritage building into a restaurant and bar and keep it feeling like it's still the original vibe. The place was an old stable and you can tell from the decor and the theme. The funniest part is the signage on the toilets, albeit it a little insensitive for people with a weak sense of humor. The staff were lovely and the service was great, to say it's in the middle of nowhere it's also very reasonably priced.

Lovely restaurant with lovely staff. We visited after spending an afternoon at the Forbidden Corner next door. The restaurant is a converted stable block and looks very classy. The food was amazing. We went for T-bone pork, which was a good size, moist, and tasty. It came with a crispy piece of crackling. The waitresses looked after us, making sure we had everything we needed. Service was quick. The horsey theme was great. Toilets were clean. It was a great meal in a very nice setting.

Stayed here while visiting The Forbidden Corner. Beautiful location and building. There was also plenty of parking on site. Check in was easy and all staff friendly and professional. The room we stayed in was stunning, well looked after and decorated. Was incredibly quiet and peaceful in the evening. Breakfast was also included which was top quality! There is a bar/restaurant on site too (which is where you have breakfast) which is just as stunning and well presented as the rest of the venue. We ate here for dinner in the evening, price point is great for the high quality of food on offer. Again staff were lovely. All in all of you're looking for a quality country retreat you can't go wrong with this place, highly recommended!
