Bishopdale sits at the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, a quiet dale with direct access to the park's walking routes and attractions. School Cottage stands in the small village of Newbiggin-in-Bishopdale, a terraced stone building dating from 1880 that once served as a schoolroom on its upper floor. The cottage retains original features—high ceilings, tall windows, shutters and period detailing—but has been recently refurbished with a new kitchen fitted for 2025.
The ground floor is open plan: a living and dining area with oak flooring, wood burner in a stone fireplace, and dual-aspect windows; the kitchen is equipped for proper cooking. A 32-inch Smart TV and Wi-Fi are on hand if you want to stay in. Upstairs, a single bedroom has a king-size bed. The ensuite bathroom contains a roll-top bath and separate shower. There's private parking for one car, and an enclosed courtyard at the back with patio furniture and views of the garden. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included, plus initial fuel for the wood burner. The property is for two people only and does not accept children except infants in arms.
Boot rooms front and rear provide space for walking gear. The village location means easy access to the Dales' fell paths, villages and attractions, while remaining peaceful enough for a quiet retreat.
