The Old Chapel

North Yorkshire

View on Google Maps

Thoralby is a quiet village in Wensleydale, surrounded by moorland and the rolling terrain that makes the Yorkshire Dales a destination for walkers and cyclists. The Old Chapel stands just off the village green, a former place of worship that retains period features—exposed beams and chapel windows—alongside modern comforts. The whole property is yours alone, with space for six across three bedrooms: a king on the ground floor with ensuite, another king on the first floor, and two singles higher up. A second bathroom on the first floor serves the other bedrooms.

The living room centres on a wood-burning stove, ideal for cooler months. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, the utility room has a washer-dryer, and a games room occupies the chapel roof, complete with table football, a TV and gaming consoles. Outside is an enclosed garden with seating and a barbecue. Essentials including electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are covered; logs for the burner are supplied. One dog stays free of charge. Parking for two cars is on site. The area draws bird watchers and wildlife enthusiasts—red squirrels, hares, deer, and various birds of prey are common. Aysgarth Falls and Semerwater Lake are both within reach, as are the market towns of Hawes and Leyburn. The property does not permit smoking.
