Tavern Cottages - Poppy Lodge

Poppy Lodge sits within the grounds of a caravan park near the village of Newsham, positioned to reach the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors and the Lake District without fuss. Richmond, a Georgian market town with restaurants, antique shops and a castle overlooking the centre, is seven miles away.

The lodge is a single-storey open-plan space with a super king bed in one corner, a living area warmed by a wood burner, and a kitchen fitted with a gas oven and hob for proper cooking. One shower room serves the property. Outside, an enclosed patio and garden hold furniture and a private hot tub that seats five. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included, as are initial logs for the burner. On-site parking for one car and a bike store are provided. The property is non-smoking.

The place works best for couples or small groups wanting a base for days out across the uplands. After walking, the hot tub offers an immediate way to ease tired legs before an evening by the fire inside.
