View on Google Maps

White Lodge Cottage is a converted coach house in Carlton Miniott, a village a couple of miles from Thirsk. The property sleeps eight across four bedrooms: two kingsize rooms with ensuite bathrooms, and two further bedrooms with twin single beds. There are three bathrooms in total. The layout centres on two main living areas—one open plan with a well-equipped kitchen and dining space, the other a separate sitting room—each with its own woodburner. Both have direct access to the gardens outside.

The ground floor is underfloor heated. Electricity, wifi, bed linen and towels are all included. There is parking on site for six cars, and the gardens have terracing and seating. Thirsk itself, a market town with an 18th-century high street, lies within easy reach and has restaurants, shops, tea rooms and a racecourse. The property does not accept smoking, and is available for families and couples only.

We had a lovely stay, a beautiful property, in a lovely rural setting. Very close to Thirsk, which is a picturesque market town, also close to the railway station. The downside of the property is the under floor heating which isn't very warm. Beautiful level gardens as well.

Stayed here in Autumn and it was lovely, a really loved and cared for cottage. The cottage had everything you needed and the rooms clean, spacious and comfortable. You do have to give a cash deposit to the owner upon arrival which you get back at the end of your journey. The living room did sometimes get a bit nippy, but there was a log burner and plenty of logs, so we did have that on most nights. Thirsk is a little market town with a Lidl & Tesco supermarket right next to each other along with lots of independent retailers. There is also a small independent cinema in the town too! The train station is close by and in reasonable walking distance. I would say the town is easy to get to by foot if you are just ambling along on a dry day, might not be as fun with arm loads of shopping.
