Whitestone Cottage

North Yorkshire

View on Google Maps

The North Yorkshire coastline between Whitby and Scarborough offers dramatic cliffs, coastal footpaths and villages with genuine character. Whitestone Cottage sits on the edge of Staintondale with views towards the sea; a National Trust footpath takes roughly 30 minutes to reach the coast. The immediate area is excellent for walking, with the Cinder Track and local bridleways nearby for riding and cycling. A flat walk leads to the pub without getting in the car.

This ground-floor cottage sleeps four across two bedrooms—a kingsize and two singles—with one bathroom. The living room has a wood-burning stove and sea views. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, with a dishwasher, washer-dryer and breakfast area. An enclosed garden to the side offers privacy, with a patio, furniture and a BBQ. Two parking spaces are on site. Wi-Fi and bed linen are included; heating and utilities are covered. One well-behaved pet stays free. The cottage is non-smoking.

Nearby Lowfield Log Houses and local farm stalls selling eggs and produce are within reach. This suits families or groups wanting a base for coastal exploration without constant seaside noise, or anyone wanting genuinely quiet countryside walking punctuated by proper pubs and local food.
