Nidderdale sits in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, a landscape of moorland, woodland and river valleys that draws walkers and cyclists throughout the year. The Nidderdale Way long-distance path runs nearby, and Pateley Bridge—two miles away—serves as the closest town, with independent shops, cafes and restaurants. Beyond that lie Harrogate's Georgian architecture and thermal baths, Fountains Abbey, Brimham Rocks, and the market town of Grassington. Wickwoods is a stone-built cottage on a working livestock farm, set back from the road down a private track, with far-reaching views across the valley from an elevated position.
Inside are four bedrooms and two bathrooms across three floors. The lower ground floor has a twin bedroom. On the ground floor, a living room with wood burner and entertainment options opens onto a kitchen and dining room fitted with an electric oven, hob, dishwasher and washing machine, alongside a family bathroom. Upstairs are three further bedrooms: a kingsize double, another twin, and a fourth double. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included; initial fuel for the wood burner comes with the property, with additional supplies available via honesty box. A lawned garden with patio and barbecue sits within grounds shared with the owner and their dogs. Private parking for three cars on site. Smoking is not permitted.
The cottage works for extended families or groups of friends wanting their own space for a week or more. After days exploring the dales or nearby attractions, the patio becomes a natural spot to watch the light fade across the valley, returning to the warmth of the burner for the evening.
