About Days Inn Watford Gap
A restaurant and bar on site make Days Inn Watford Gap a straightforward stop for breakfast or an evening meal without leaving the property, and the morning breakfast service is included for those setting off early towards Northampton, Daventry, Silverstone or Althorp Estate. The hotel sits at the Watford Gap services just off the M1, so it's built around convenience rather than seclusion.
There are 36 rooms across two floors, including family and accessible options, with air conditioning, drinks in the room and free WiFi throughout. Rooms are generally spacious and represent good value, though some have been reported as noisy or in need of better upkeep, so it's worth setting expectations accordingly. Staff are consistently described as helpful and friendly.
Facilities extend to an indoor swimming pool, spa and sauna, a lift, meeting rooms and concierge services, plus free on-site parking and an electric vehicle charge point. Pets are welcome, and there's a garden for stretching legs after a drive. With pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby, plus easy M1 access, it works well as a practical base for exploring the surrounding area.

If you want next room customers to punch the wall so that the painting hanging on the wall can fall on your head while you’re in bed, then go right ahead - book and have fun! I was normally chatting not making any noise then suddenly person in opposite room punched the wall and scared me and my partner, the painting on the wall above the bed fell in the bed nearly missing our heads. Went to this person’s room but he didn’t answer the door. Next the receptionist came to my room to tell me the other customer complained about noise, so I left. DaysInn is for lorrie drivers only, don’t bring your girfriend, mistress, or your family here, and definitely tip top around, whisper and remove wall paintings. I wish the painting fell on me or my partner so I can sue your cheap chicken coop! Poor excuse for a hotel. AVOID!

Our room was a little tired and tatty and the window didn’t close properly so we heard vehicles outside. One of the double bed mattresses was sinking in the middle so you would roll into the middle but otherwise a good value for money hotel and handy being right on the M1. There was a handy drinks fridge behind reception which is apparently new.

It doesn't matter how great and friendly the staff are when the building you sleep in has all the acoustic insulation of a cardboard box! The window doesn't shut even when it's shut, so you can hear lorries beeping as if there was no window at all. Despite wearing earplugs, I get woken up by next door's alarm and then their creaking floorboards and doors whilst they shower and leave around 05:20 - I may as well have not booked at all, and just woken up at that time at home. I wondered why Days Inn hasn't gone bust already. Let me enlighten you: Days Inn stays run-down because it’s a franchise brand that rarely owns its buildings. Individual franchisees operate on very thin margins, making major refurbishment financially risky and often unrecoverable through higher room rates. Meanwhile the owner, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts continues to collect franchise and booking fees regardless of property condition, with little incentive to force upgrades. Wyndham also owns mid-tier brands like Ramada, La Quinta and Super 8, and doesn’t want Days Inn drifting upward to compete on price. As long as travellers tolerate a poor night’s sleep while on the road, this gently profitable rot of a business model will continue to survive rather than improve. £25 less per night was not at all worth it, and I vow to never stay at a Days Inn ever again.

Extremely positive experience. I actually booked the wrong date but Sarah on the front desk sorted it out for me. Rooms were spacious and clean. Can’t fault it at all. Cheers Sarah! Legend…
