Kennel Cottage suits couples and small groups after genuine quiet. The single bedroom has a kingsize bed and ensuite shower room, with a separate toilet for guests. Everything is on the ground floor, including the kitchen (which has an electric oven, hob, dishwasher and washing machine), dining room and living room with Freeview TV. A conservatory looks onto the front garden, where a sitting area overlooks the stream that runs through the grounds. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are included; parking is for two cars.
One dog stays free and can use the cycle and walking routes that start from the property. The cottage sits near Harbottle, where a village pub serves food and has a dog-friendly policy, just over a mile away. The surrounding landscape attracts red squirrels, roe deer, badgers, foxes and otters, as well as birds of prey including peregrines and buzzards. This corner of Northumberland sits on the edge of the National Park, within the Dark Sky area, making it popular for stargazing. Rothbury, with its shops and cafés, is roughly half an hour's drive away. The natural water supply comes via a spring; smoking is not permitted.
