Cairnswood

Cairnswood is a single-storey lodge sleeping four on a 40-acre country park near Felton. Everything you need is provided: bed linen and towels are included, heating and hot water are covered, and Wi-Fi keeps you connected. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering, and a wood-burning stove warms the living room on cooler evenings.

The layout centres on a ground-floor open-plan living and dining space with French doors opening onto a wraparound raised deck. One bedroom contains a double bed, the other two singles, and a shower room serves both. Outside, you have sole use of a private hot tub on the deck and private parking for one car. The grounds feature garden furniture and access to a children's play area shared with other on-site properties; an unfenced lake sits 300 yards away, and there are steps within the grounds. No smoking indoors.

The location suits couples wanting peace and quiet or a small family looking for a countryside base. A lake and resident wildlife are on your doorstep for evening walks. Nearby Felton offers a café and pub; Alnwick Castle and gardens lie a short drive away, as does Morpeth with its market-town restaurants and Edwardian arcade. Those travelling with children might visit the zoo half a mile away, while golfers will find Burgham Park Golf Course equally close.
