Bamburgh's castle and sandy beach lie just five miles away, and Holy Island of Lindisfarne with its own castle and priory is also within reach. Shepherd's Cottage is the kind of base that lets you explore the Northumberland coast without needing to be right on it—you get countryside calm with easy access to the region's main draws.

The cottage is a single-storey property on Elwick Farm, sleeping six across three bedrooms: one with a super king bed, two with singles. There are two bathrooms, one with a bath and shower, one with a shower cubicle. Downstairs, a living and dining area has an electric fire and Freeview TV. The kitchen is fully fitted for self-catering, with an oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Parking is on site for two cars, and there's an enclosed garden with patio furniture and a barbecue.

Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and electricity are included. One dog is welcome. The property does not allow smoking. There is a small step into the garden.
