Hadrian’s Wall Shepherd’s Hut at Brockalee Farm
Northumberland

Hadrian's Wall Shepherd's Hut at Brockalee Farm sits on working farmland in Northumberland, within reach of the wall itself and the market towns of Hexham and Corbridge. The hut is a custom-built space sleeping two in a ground-floor open plan layout: a double bedroom, shower room, living area with a wood-burning stove and smart TV, and a kitchen equipped for self-catering. Electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. The hut has an enclosed garden with seating outside.
You get private parking for two cars and the whole property to yourself. One small dog is welcome. There's enough space to cook proper meals, though the kitchen is compact—a two-ring hob, air fryer, microwave grill and fridge do the essentials. The bedroom has a 4ft 6in double bed and the shower is in a cubicle in the bathroom.
This works well for couples wanting a quiet break in the countryside or anyone using the location as a base for exploring the Roman fort at Housesteads, the National Cycle Network's Route 72, or the historic centre of Hexham with its abbey and independent shops. Fly-fishing is available at nearby Langley Dam. The farm itself has alpacas, donkeys and goats on site.
