Bardon Mill Waiting Room
Northumberland
This former platform waiting room at Bardon Mill station has been converted into a compact, single-storey holiday let. Built from the station's own architecture, it faces directly onto the working railway line, with the station house adjacent and trains passing through roughly every two hours in each direction. The whole property is yours alone, arranged on one floor with windows bringing in plenty of natural light across the open-plan living, dining and kitchen areas.
A double bedroom with en-suite shower sits at one end; a separate bathroom with bath and shower serves the rest of the space. The living area has a woodburner at one end and an open fireplace at the other, with initial logs supplied. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering with electric oven and hob, fridge and dishwasher. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included. Outside, there's a small enclosed patio to the rear and a front garden, plus parking for two cars on site. One pet stays free.
Bardon Mill village has a train halt with regular services to Newcastle and Carlisle. Haydon Bridge is 4 miles away with more facilities; Haltwhistle and Hexham are further afield. The A69 is nearby for exploring the wider region, or simply watch the trains from your patio. No smoking inside.
