Turned up 30 min earlier hoping I could get room access after riding a motorcycle in all weathers for most of the day and I did, the bar staff were brilliant, friendly, helpful & informative, my bike was parked off the front street in behind doors in a side driveway adjacent to the building & secured. I gave the room 4 stars due to it being a bit small and the window to the front street 2ft from the bed, but apart from that it was excellent, clean, modern, warm & comfortable. Meals & drink at the bar was really tasty & good prices, good service and choice. Breakfast was very good, the set up, very attentive staff, just made you feel relaxed & content before you moved off.

Great little pub and hotel in the Hexham area. Lovely food and very friendly staff. Rooms were clean, comfortable and well designed. Great for exploring the Magna museum and Vindolanda and surrounding areas.

Stayed here for a night during a Pennine Way hike - the place is a few miles off the trail but still convenient enough (and maybe a bit more relaxed than the places closer to Hadrian's Wall). The Bowes Hotel has a more of a mid-range hotel than a pub vibe - rooms are elegant and very comfortable, and the dining area is spacious and rather sophisticated. Food was very good, and staff were friendly; owner Ian is a great guy and a traveller himself. Excellent hotel!
