The living room has a wood-burning stove, smart TV and games—the kind of room where people naturally gather on quieter evenings. Upstairs, three bedrooms: one with a king-size bed, two with pairs of singles. A bathroom holds both a bath and a double walk-in shower. The essentials are covered—heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi—so you arrive to a ready house.

Newbiggin-by-the-Sea sits on the Northumberland coast, and Reubels Retreat is less than a mile from the beach. The sand stretches long enough for proper walks, and the promenade runs alongside with views across the bay. The town has cafés, pubs and fish and chip shops. There's a car park on site. The property does not permit smoking.
