Northumberland

Piglet Cottage is a traditional family home on Soppit Farm, near Elsdon in Northumberland National Park. The property comes ready for self-catering: electricity, gas central heating, bed linen and Wi-Fi are all included, so you need only bring clothes and food. The kitchen is fully fitted with electric oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine, leaving you free to cook as much or as little as you want.
Inside, there are three bedrooms—a super king on the ground floor plus two singles upstairs—and one bathroom with a walk-in shower. The ground floor is open plan, combining the living area (with Freeview TV and DVD player) with the dining and kitchen spaces. A single step leads to the entrance. Outside, you have private parking for two cars and access to a bike store. The grounds include picnic tables and a wood-fired hot tub shared with other cottages on site, available by arrangement for an additional charge.
This is an active base for walkers and cyclists: you can wander freely through the farm's 20 acres of open farmland and woodland, or head out to Kielder Forest and the Scottish Borders, both easily reached by car. A pub lies within a mile. No smoking inside the property.
