The Granary Rest is a cabin designed to resemble a traditional clinker boat—the kind once used along Northumberland's coast for storage—but fitted out as a proper holiday home. You step inside to find a compact living space with a king-sized sofa bed, a separate bedroom with a fixed king bed, and a kitchenette where you can cook proper meals on a double hob and electric oven. An en-suite shower room is tucked to one side. The cabin sleeps up to four adults, or four adults and one child under 12.
The real appeal is what lies beyond the front door. Private decking leads to a gravelled area with seating around a firepit and barbecue, overlooking the lake. On clear nights you can use the stargazing guides provided; during the day, bird spotting guides and OS maps help you explore the rural location and its walking routes. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included in your stay. The cabin has heating, a smart TV with DVD player, and WiFi. There's a pub within a mile if you'd rather not cook.
No smoking inside. Check-in is after 4pm and checkout before 10am.

Really nice lunch yesterday. Friendly service and Greek meal that was really good value. Place has upgraded 2-3 levels with menu in past 12 months.

I eat here frequently and have also taken food out. Portions are generous and the quality really good. We enjoy the atmosphere. It's great for families and there's a dedicated menu for children and an outside seating and play area. There are board games to play and a small library as well as a snooker table. It's also dog friendly. The staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. Sports on the various TV's and there's a schedule of events held worth looking at. Pic of takeout fish pie. It was delicious!!

We have had such a great time visiting The Old Granary, what an improvement! The atmosphere and entertainment was brilliant and included the whole family. The new manager is fantastic and went above and beyond with the children’s entertainment. Look forward to visiting again in the summer!

It has really improved recently in here & we’ve had some lovely food! Lovely dog friendly pub to sit & have a relaxing drink & bite to eat. Have entertainment on a weekend of bingo, quizzes, games or singers with friendly staff.
