The Nook at Woodland

Northumberland

Couples after a getaway and families wanting something different will both find The Nook at Woodland works well. The cabin sleeps four and sits on the bank of Langley Dam, where you get unobstructed views across the water towards Whitfield Moor. The design takes its cue from clinker boats – the kind once used by fishing communities to store nets and tools – giving it a distinctive shape that sets it apart from standard holiday lets.

Inside is a single bedroom with an en-suite shower room. The kitchenette has a hob, oven, fridge and basic cooking kit, so you can prepare meals rather than eating out every night. There's a drop-leaf table for dining, a smart TV with DVD player, and WiFi throughout. Electric heating keeps things warm in cooler months. Outside, your private decking overlooks the lake, with a gravelled area beside it where a firepit and seating are set up – the sort of space where evenings disappear. The site provides bird-spotting and stargazing guides, OS maps, and a children's play area for younger guests aged roughly 3 to 12. A pub sits within a mile. One car can park on site. No smoking inside the cabin.
