Alnwick sits on the edge of Northumberland's Heritage Coast, where the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty stretches for miles along sandy beaches and cliff-top paths. The Old Forge is a stone cottage on a quiet lane just behind the town centre, putting you within walking distance of independent shops, restaurants, pubs, and the castle and gardens that draw visitors from across the region. Parking for one car is included.
Inside, there are two bedrooms—one with a king bed, one with two singles—sharing a bathroom upstairs. Downstairs, the kitchen has an electric oven, hob, dishwasher and microwave; the living room has a television and DVD player. Everything you need to cook and eat in is provided, along with Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels. An enclosed patio garden with seating is tucked away at the back. The property sleeps up to 4 and suits families (a travel cot and highchair are available), though note the maximum is 3 adults or 2 adults with 2 children. No smoking inside.
From here you can reach the coastline and its walking trails without leaving the region, or spend time in Alnwick itself. Morrisons supermarket is nearby for supplies.
