Wooler Country Cottages - The Old Forge
Northumberland
Photo: Google Maps
Wooler sits at the gateway to the Cheviots, close enough to moorland walks that begin at your door yet within reach of the coast at Berwick-on-Tweed, 15 miles away. The Old Forge is a substantial cottage sleeping eight across four bedrooms and three bathrooms, positioned to suit families or groups wanting to explore this part of Northumberland together. All three upstairs bedrooms have their own shower rooms; the fourth bedroom has twin beds. Downstairs, the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, and the living spaces open onto a decked balcony with countryside views and garden furniture for eating outside. An enclosed lawned garden lies beyond, shared with one other cottage on the site.
The property includes Wi-Fi, heating, bed linen and towels. There is parking for two cars on site, with additional public parking nearby. A travel cot and highchair are available if needed. The village itself has the Ad Gefrin Anglo-Saxon Museum and a whisky distillery offering tours and tastings. The Scottish Borders—Coldstream, Kelso and beyond—are straightforward drives, and Edinburgh is roughly 90 minutes away. One dog is welcome. The cottage does not permit smoking.
