This historic and still operating short railway line is nestled in a beautiful natural lakeside environment and is all-aboard with coal/steam industrial era character. From the charming cafe and gift shop on platform to the little museum and ticketed train ride beside Chasewater you'll get a sense of active local history. Best enjoyed on a sunny day but stunning across all seasons. The train track and two stops are short, approximately 10 mintues, where you can easily rejoin the Lakeside looping gravel path. The museum is free. It's a small depot turned museum with trains, information, signage, maps, and more inside. I spent about 20 minutes inside with general interest. Seating is available inside and out by the platform café. A short walk will bring you to Chasewater shop/bakery/toilets, where bicycle lockup rails are situated and more outdoor seating along with a ice-cream van and the lake activity centre. There is plenty of greenery to sit and enjoy a picnic with deer roaming freely. The area in general is usually busy on sunny days with paid parking available. It's also accessable via the canal that runs through Brownhills towards Walsall and Willenhall North. All ages enjoy this place. Hope this helps.

It's absolutely astounding how the volunteers have kept this place running. It's pristine and the the effort, knowledge and time required to keep it operational and safe must be monumental. Everyone involved is so enthusiastic and delighted to be there. You all should be very proud.

We really enjoyed this place. It may not be ideal for anyone with breathing difficulties due to the steep terrain, but the park itself is fantastic. The café is traditional and serves good food, and the kids will absolutely love it!
