Wildlife and watersports in one location? If that sounds like a wonderful mix, nip off to Nottinghamshire and a stay at Copper Fox Camping. This welcoming site sits just 15 minutes' drive from central Nottingham, yet feels wonderfully remote once you've settled into one of its peaceful pitches overlooking the lakes. Two of these waters are well stocked with carp, perch, chub and roach for anglers, with day tickets and night fishing sessions bookable on site – or you could simply admire the watery views from your pitch, barbecue in hand, soaking up the serene atmosphere.
The Skylarks Nature Reserve next door offers lovely trails for spotting local wildlife, while it's just a few minutes' walk to the National Water Sports Centre and Holme Pierrepont Country Park for whitewater rafting, paddleboarding and kayaking, plus treetop trails and adventure activities. Walks along the River Trent are very close by, or stroll half an hour to Radcliffe on Trent for excellent pub fare. Basic facilities (bring a portable toilet) keep things simple and wild.

Wouldn't stay here again, nightmare to find. Only 2 toilets but only 1 available to use. No bins on site. Only positive for us was the location was nice.

We stayed here two nights and will definitely go back. The views of the lake straight out of your MH door are beautiful. Got two proper loo's and were installing 2 showers when i went.

Just got home from 2 nights camping with our 3 young kids. Beautiful location and cleanest toilets ever! Gorgeous site and we will definitely be returning!
