Blackwater Glamping and Campsite

Not great not terrible. You get what you book - It is a campsite with extra "glamping"-pods with a great location on the WHW. Cheapest option in town of you want to stay here. We booked one of those pods. Pods: If you are with two people the pods can be kinda small but that's fine. But there is no place for the rucksacks. You can stand in the middle and you get some amenities like a kettle, a microwave, a TV and a fridge. In my honest opinion - leave those (except for the kettle) out and make room for some stuff. But that's a personal opinion. The pods itself were mostly clean, the matresses you sleep on were not. Also it's super warm in the pots and the small window doesn't really help. Sleeping: You can bring your own bedding or you can rent some from them for 5£ each. It contains a sleeping bag, an inlay and a pillow. The last one is really not good. Toilets: As mentioned before it's a campsite. The showers were good, not the cleanest but nothing bad, also warm and lots of water. The toilets were really not great. I get you don't have any influence of how people leave the bathroom after their business but it was really not nice. Maybe two toilets for the gentleman for a full campsite is also a little under numbered. Extras There is a nice little outdoor kitchen and two drying rooms. Those are great. All in all For the price it's really okay. Nothing too bad or too great. For one night it's all you need.

we stayed on the little pods. everything you needed including kettle, fridge, microwave, table, chairs. we had our own views over the river. shower block was lovely with a handy net for clothing and lovely smelling shower gel. small site, lovely stay would recommend for a place to rest your weary legs

We booked a glamping pod, under the impression that we would indulge in a luxurious experience with proper bedding and fancy amenities. Instead we got “welcomed” by a receptionist who didn’t wanna help us out and sleeping beds that we were supposed to approach with a clean “sleeping bed liner”. Sorry but for a glamping - which stands for glamourous camping- this is not acceptable. After a night of no sleep we can say we sadly all agree to not come back and are more than disappointed of the price-value-experience after a long day of hiking.

After a hard day walking the west highland way we arrived at this campsite, looked very over crowded and tents were on top of each other and after a hard day we didn’t expect that. There was a bit of shelter around the back which was also chaos, lots of people, emptying bags, cooking with gas stoves, to be honest very busy, too busy!! Showered were good but again people hanging over you brushing their teeth, we won’t be back here! You have seen the last of us!
