About Sunnybrae Caravan Park
Tucked away on the island of Luing with sweeping views over the Cuan Sound, this tiny family-run park offers a genuine escape into Argyll's wild coastal scenery. The handful of self-catering holiday homes make an ideal base for wildlife-watching, kayaking, or simply unwinding to the rhythm of the tides. Children and dogs are welcomed year-round, and The Bothy provides all the essentials—washing facilities, books, DVDs, barbecues, even crab lines for budding fishermen.
With a bit of advance notice, you can arrange freshly caught lobster, crab, scallops, or prawns from local Luing fishermen, adding a taste of the island to your stay. Fishing and bike hire are available on site, while nearby activities range from climbing and golf to exploring quiet coastal trails. It's wonderfully peaceful and genuinely remote—perfect for those craving Scotland's west coast at its most unspoiled.

What visitors say
We had a wonderful stay at Sunnybrae, staying 4 nights in Gannet. The accommodation was excellent- it was spotlessly clean and well equipped (even sharp knives that are often lacking in holiday accommodation!). The holiday home looks out on to the beautiful Cuan sound, where we could relax and watch the world go by as geese, seals and boats made their way through the fast tidal race. The island was perfect for exploring by foot or on bikes, including going to lunch at the Atlantic centre in Cullipool. The site owners were super helpful and welcoming, from booking and throughout our stay. We took our own RIB and kept it on the site pontoon during our stay - it was brilliant to be able to just hop on the boat to explore the area without the usual hassle of launching it. We saw a wide range of wildlife on our tours and snorkel in some of the sheltered bays in the area.

Avoid. Unfortunately we had booked at the same time as Storm Amy came through. The property refused to refund our money despite the ferry being cancelled so we couldn’t get there. I had to reach out to them regarding what Storm Amy would mean for our stay, they weren’t proactive at all. Their only suggestion was that we claim the stay on travel insurance (ours doesn’t cover it). Lost over GBP 335 on a 2 night stay. Very short sighted and a real lack of customer service or empathy shown. If you can’t afford to lose your hard earned $ on a cancellation maybe think of another place to stay!

We traveled nearly 600 miles to be greeted by Dolphins and the friendly owners on our arrival. This place is just beautiful, all you can hear are the birds, seals, water and the ferry. The accommodation has all you need to enjoy a peaceful break away. The ferry is quick and easy so do not be put off by this. We were also lucky to have great weather.

6 stars for location! Mesmerised by stunning view of Cuan Sound, caravan immediately on the waters edge. So many birds to see, saw a few seals too. So peaceful. We were welcomed by Mike, super friendly and helpful. Caravan was modern and very clean, well laid out and everything you'd need for self catering. Superb base for exploring the island of Luing. Great walk round to Cullipool, the Islands Centre and the shop/PO both great stops and lovely staff. Would have loved to walk more, but just a short visit for us.
