About Draysey Woods Nature Escape
When all you want is peace and lots of countryside in which to wander, make a beeline for Draysey Woods Nature Escape. This small family pop-up site sits on a farm just ten minutes' walk from Ockley in the Surrey Hills National Landscape, offering simple pleasures: long rambles through the fields, dog walks in woodland, and a level pitch backed by trees with masses of room for football and general running around. Hot showers, clean flushable toilets, washing-up sinks and an undercover games area keep things comfortable, while campfires and barbecues add to the back-to-basics appeal.
Leith Hill's landmark tower is a ten-minute drive away – scramble up from Leith Hill Place Car Park for views across the Surrey Hills to the South Downs. Several National Trust properties lie within half an hour, and when you've had your fill of local heritage, two pubs are within fifteen minutes' stroll. Don't come expecting entertainment or music; this is a quiet site for walkers, families and anyone seeking stillness under the trees.

What visitors say
Amazing stay! Beautiful campsite , amazing owners. Great location, however, given 3 stars to attract attention as I think its very important that people staying with kids to know - PLEASE WATCH OUT FOR TICKS! Once again I want to highlight this is not the owners fault and its a great stay but if you head into the woods make sure to have a repellant or dont take the children in! We had a bit of a plague which we haven't experienced before so I think its a valuable info to keep in mind. Thank you for an amazing stay!

We had an amazing weekend at Draysey Woods Nature Escape. The scenery is breathtaking, the facilities are amazing, Hayley and Charlie were incredibly attentive and helpful and we will definitely be visiting again. I highly recommend staying here for a relaxing, back to nature trip, with lots of walking opportunities. Perfect for families, couples, dogs and friends. Thank you Hayley and Charlie!

We had a lovely weekend away here, booked very last minute. We brought our own tent and we had so much space from other campers. There were toilets, warm showers, running water, fridge and kettle, and an outdoor ball area and a semi undercover little ping pong area. Beautiful woods for walks with really interesting plants and birds to spot. Really easy communication from Hayley one of the owners too, we also got some wood for a fire from them. Overall it was a very sweet semi-back to basics campsite

We spent a weekend here as a base for a 25km looped walk - which we recommend from this campsite! Mostly off-road, up to Leith Hill Tower, to the Abinger Hatch for lunch and then back via Coldharbour to get food at The Plough Inn which is a short walk from the campsite. Hayley and Charles were so great at communicating and helped us plan our route from Ockley Station on the Friday night (most of us didn't have cars) and also pointed out to us there were no trains on a Sunday in time for us to plan a different way home! The site is really beautiful and thought out well. It feels really safe with lots of kids running around making friends, and great facilities for a UK campsite (toilets, toilet paper, showers, hot water, drinking water, small kitchen, covered area, electricity access, Saturday breakfast available, and logs and fire kit to rent/buy). We saw deer on our walk, all kinds of birds, butterflies, dragonflies, and the stars on full display at night! As another reviewer said: cars are parked in a different field, and trollies/wheelbarrows provided. This is excellent because it feels much more nature-y without cars in view. The only downside is there are quite a lot of planes overhead, but there is nothing the owners can do about that! I usually get bitten a lot, but with the aid of bug spray and tick checks, I came away with only a few small insect bites (to be expected!). Having read the other reviews, I can confirm the paths and spaces to camp were very wide - there is never a need to walk in the long grass. Would recommend for friends, families and explorers of Surrey Hills.
