About Comfortable rooms in the house
Comfortable Rooms in the House is exactly that: a homely B&B set within a house on Weirs Lane, on the edge of central Oxford. The building keeps a domestic, residential character rather than feeling like a conventional hotel, with a garden and outdoor seating area giving guests somewhere to sit outside. As an adults-only property, it tends to suit couples and solo travellers over families.
Rooms are en-suite and come with drinks provided, and breakfast is included to start the day. Practical touches include free WiFi throughout, a guest kitchen, laundry service, luggage storage and 24-hour reception, so arrival and departure times are flexible. Free on-site parking is a genuine plus in a city where parking can otherwise be a headache.
The surrounding area has pubs, bars and restaurants within easy reach, along with entertainment options and a nearby golf course for those wanting something more active. It makes a straightforward base for exploring Oxford, with the essentials covered rather than lavish extras.
What guests say
I don't understand why this is rated so badly. It has amazing facilities and is easily accessible, and not expensive (relatively)! The pink room (#2) is amazing. Huge fan, big smart TV, big comfy bed. The info was all clear (tho in my panic of my phone nearly dying I didn't read you had to swipe the smart lock, she didn't mind!) Only thing is the shower, which is basically warm rain. The breakfast is very varied, though I felt a bit awkward prancing about the house on my own. Once you get the hang of the bus system, it's literally 5 minutes from the centre for only £2 each way, and the buses stop literally in front (hourly), or on a 3min walk (every few minutes). All in all, highly recommended! (I got a glimpse of another room and I suppose it does depend on the room. The pink room was very luxurious though!)

Nice and clean. The room is well prepared and welcoming. The bathroom very small and so is the kitchen you share with other guests, only one small table. The first breakfast ok with yoghurt, bread, fruit etc. Day 2 a disappointment. No eggs, no yoghurt. The owner had forgotten to fill the fridge. Its the house behind the white birch, Number 17, very close to Tesco. Close to buses. Recommended.
