Do you like your holidays with a vintage twist? At Mehefin Coed, a peaceful working farm in the Preseli Mountains, you can bed down in a retro motorhome just 15 minutes from the coastal town of Newport. The cosy, dog-friendly caravan comes properly kitted out: comfortable double bed, wetroom with toiletries and towels, galley kitchen with twin hob and microwave, plus TV and DVD player for rainy afternoons.
Cook up a storm and eat among the colourful flowers of owners June and Laurence's garden, or fire up the barbecue pit (kindling, logs and tools all provided). The site's own spring water flows directly from the Preselis – filtered, sterilised and genuinely delicious. June's happy to share local knowledge and maps when you're ready to explore the surrounding hills, which offer epic hiking practically from the doorstep.
Stock up on provisions in nearby Crymych village, ten minutes' drive away. On-site perks include an electric vehicle charging point and launderette with tumble dryer – handy after muddy mountain walks.
