Caerau Bach

Pembrokeshire

Pembrokeshire's northern coast around Trefin draws walkers and artists in equal measure. The village sits minutes from a working harbour at Porthgain, where galleries and restaurants cluster around the water, and the coastal path stretches in both directions. Caerau Bach stands on the hillside above, a compact two-bedroom cottage built upside-down to frame the seaward views across the first floor.

Bedrooms occupy the ground level: one with an ensuite, the other with a separate shower room. Both are doubles. Upstairs, the living space opens to a kitchen and dining area where the sea views dominate. There's a wood burner for cool evenings, a smart TV for downtime, and a kitchen equipped to cook properly or assemble picnics. Underfloor heating runs throughout. Bed linen, towels, wifi and electricity are included; logs for the burner come with the cottage. The garden has seating and a barbecue, with parking for three cars.

A 15-minute walk reaches the coastal path from the gate. Trefin's shop, garage and pub are five minutes' drive; Porthgain's restaurants and galleries a little further. The cottage takes families, though it's equally suited to couples seeking coastal quiet. No smoking inside.
