The Hen House
Pembrokeshire
The Hen House is a detached cottage restored to a high standard, set within three acres of natural grounds near Freshwater East Beach. The property sits alongside the owner's Georgian country house, dating to the early 19th century, in a location that puts coastal walks and several beaches within easy reach. Barafundle Bay, Broadhaven and Freshwater East are all nearby, with the Pembrokeshire coastal path accessible on foot.
Inside, there are two bedrooms—one with a super king bed and ensuite shower, the other with three single beds—plus a bathroom with bath and shower. The ground floor has a living room with a 32-inch Freeview TV and DVD player, and a kitchen/dining room equipped with an electric cooker, dishwasher and washer-dryer, which means you can cook properly and manage laundry if you're staying longer. Parking for two cars is on site, and wifi, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included. A travel cot, highchair and stairgate are available if needed. There is an enclosed pond in the grounds about 100 yards away.
The cottage suits families or groups of up to five looking for a base to explore Pembrokeshire's beaches and coastal activities—kayaking, surfing and coasteering are all possible from here. Tenby, with its cafés, shops and restaurants, is within reach for days when you want to venture further. No smoking inside the property.
