It's a genuinely tranquil spot—perfect if you're after a quiet, back-to-basics pitch rather than a resort-style site. Dogs are welcome, and with drinking water, toilets and showers on hand, the basics are well covered.
Open year-round and family-friendly, it makes a solid, unpretentious base for exploring Cumbria's fells and market towns. Just note there's no WiFi, so you'll be properly off-grid—which is exactly the appeal for many who camp here.
