Just back from a 4 night stay at the Waterside Inn hotel. Friendly staff. Room and beds were fine. Food was okay, nothing special. The COD fish with a coating looked and tasted like it came from a supermarket. Definitely not what I was expecting from a hotel in the North of Scotland. Never enough food. Always had to wait in a queue for someone to refill the containers. One of the waiting staff came out with what looked like an ice cream carton to fill up the mashed potato tray. Very unprofessional. Staff had to keep shouting in to the kitchen for more food as people were complaining. There was only one member of staff serving on the Friday morning in the dining room for over 50 guests. There are no dishes on the menu for vegetarians, You have got to personally ask.

Terrible breakfast. Arrived at 8.40 to find only stewed pear left. No fresh fruit except ropey apples. No yogurt. One wet looking egg in the hot food area. Undrinkable coffee. No orange juice left. I could go on.

Just outside Peterhead,lovely wee hotel. Gym /pool seems to be used mainly by locals or workmen staying over. Bedrooms good size, lovely bath with shower over, kettle with tea/coffee, fridge. Hanging space but most people just passing thru. Didn't go to breakfast much but usual hot and cold choices. Evening meal, choices but bit repetative. Good value, friendly staff. Wee coach party in Entertainer once during your stay,chap funny, entertaining and friendly. Wee Lithuania cafe in Peterhead, think it was called Simply Magic but was simply delicious.Nice chicken noodle soup and mousse in shape of raspberry or apple. Honey cake looked delicious Hotel handy for Fraserburgh and lovely church cafe, friendly folk Elgin picking up, felt busier.

Very chill location. Reckon my room was nearest to main road and barely heard any passing traffic. Staff friendly and attentive. Very down -to - earth- environment. Breakfast standard fair but no frills. More than adequate for business travellers but certain facilities - pool area and gym appear to be open to the general public. So not the most exclusive and you pay extra for use of facilities - which was unexpected.
