What visitors say
Crimdon Dene Holiday Park, has great veiws out to sea due to the elevated position. A bit of a trek down to the huge beach, but being sand dunes and a nature area is also nice. The park seemed clean and I didn't think the caravans were too close together where we stayed. We didn't need to use the facilities (swimming pool, amusements etc...) as we were a couple without the grand children in tow. Positioned well as a base to explore local area by car.

Perfectly pleasant, peaceful and pretty! I’m not sure where all the bad reviews are coming from, but we had a positive experience throughout. We were met by security at reception who checked us in 8:30pm; two friendly guys who were happy, joking and gave us directions to our van. Van was perfectly clean, in a peaceful spot with sea views. Inside the van we found the TV was left on, which made it quite a cosy feel from the offset. The heating was on too; arguably it was a bit too warm but you don’t say that often on the north east coast. We had no problems with anybody around us and no complaints of noise or antisocial behaviour. Check out was similarly simple, met by a friendly receptionist who cheerfully bid us farewell. We had to report that both the bathroom locks were not working, which hadn’t bothered us too much as a family of 4… we just knocked before entering! The 5th star would have given if there had been just a few small touches. Hand soap by the sinks would be good. A tea towel for drying dishes would also be useful. A welcome pack such as a bowl of fruit, or some pastries or cereal would be a bonus. Also some instructions for facilities in the van, such as controlling the central heating. But it’s basic, no frills and honestly no complaints from us.

I was impressed with this location, beautiful view of the sea, very pleasant paths for a walk down to the beach along the seaside. Service was wonderful from the staff - smiles and greetings from the moment I stepped through the reception door to check in. The home itself was clean, spacious and comfortable. On the other hand, one of the toilets had no toilet paper, and no hand towel in the kitchen. Bring your own hand towel and towels for the shower! What let the experience down was a large police presence when I came back in the evening, park security and about 6 police officers were gathered near reception - worrying, but good to know there is a quick response to any threats. Overall I would recommend this location, it was quiet, beautiful, easy to find. Will come again.

The beach is the only good thing about this place. Everything else was a huge disappointment. The caravan park is covered in dog mess, the toilets were always dirty and full of rubbish, and the showers were either out of order or in very poor condition. As for safety, there clearly aren't enough staff to supervise the site. Visitors ride electric motorbikes and e-scooters around without any restrictions, making it feel unsafe. We were genuinely afraid to let our children go to the playground on their own. We ended up cancelling the last week of our holiday and leaving early. If you care about comfort, cleanliness, and safety, I strongly do not recommend this caravan park.

People say this holiday park offers lovely caravans, a beautiful beach, and a great location for exploring the area.
Other reviews mention the entertainment can be repetitive and the food can be overpriced.
