Went to Hollywood bowl portsmouth in gunwharf. I book a eat drink and bowl package for myself my partner and my 2 grandchildren in the vip area. Arrived, had a lovely young girl take our booking and I added another game on there. Went to oder drinks and was treated by an aggressive and rude member of staff, had a smile in her face when dealing with the males but not the same with a female!! She was obnoxious and i really wish id caught her name, if it wasn't for the grandchildren id have left. I ordered the children drinks with our pre booked tickets and was told that the milkshakes wernt part of the agreement and would have to pay full price, this is not explained properly when booking. She also got the drinks wrong and when questioned was so arrogant and dismissive. We're then bowling and having food, a staff member comes over and said you do realise you only have 20 minutes left, I said id paid for an extra game, he questions this and goes off to speak to a supervisor..he didn't come back. We were the only people in the vip area that he time checked on. Did not feel comfortable at all and will never return!! Plenty of other places to go bowling and hopefully they will be kinder and more professional 🤞

My son’s party was a shambles. We turned up, the table that was reserved for us was full of other customers that we had to ask to move. We didn’t received drinks for the children until we asked. I paid extra for slush puppies and ice cream, which we didn’t receive any. I was told there would be balloons but there was nothing to make it special for my son. We didn’t have any host so I was left to myself with my parents. Thank god they were there as it wasn’t easy to handle all the children. I’m really not happy with the customer service I received. I will not be using Hollywood bowl again in Portsmouth and I hope so many people read this! PLEASE NEVER BOOK A PARTY AT BOWLING! OVERPRICED AND JUST TERRIBLE

Sweltering. When you're paying £100 for a family session, you expect the AC to be running. Beyond the uncomfortable heat, the lanes were incredibly oily. Maybe it was just a bad day for lane maintenance, but they were slick. It’s a great setup if you're just throwing straight with house balls, but if you bowl with your own gear, good luck getting any reaction down the lane. Expected better for the price.
