The first time it was 4 stars because the building itself is fantastic and so the rooms decor, but then... the "ladies" who serve breakfast are the most rude persons met in UK, and so the personnel who is in charge to clean the rooms: they put clean blankets on the corridors floor before outing them on the beds🤢 Plus beds have no mattress protectors. I could add more disgusting amenities but I don't have time. It's a shame because the place has a great potential.

Had a lovely week long stay at the George Hotel. The hotel is full of history and the owner Gary was very helpful and accommodating. Highly recommend to anyone who's interested in naval history.

What a great little place, just a 2 minute walk up from The Hard and Portsmouth Harbour station and you'll find a proper Portsmouth pub dating back to the 1700s in Queen Street. Had a few beers (Guinness, very nice they were, but 3 cask beers on tap too), a chat to the owner and staff, then catch a train, a 2 minute walk back to the main station. Definitely be back ... cheers Gary

Only went for a drink to pick up friends. Have eaten meals there before. It's a delightful, comfortable, friendly place. A lovely atmosphere, super lovely friendly staff. You could go alone and feel perfectly safe and accommodated. Highly recommended.
